Carey L. Monacelli uses a lathe to fashion bowls from exotic woods. Monacelli learned to use the wood lathe after he was diagnosed with a neurological condition which has rendered him legally blind. Monacelli has lived in Alaska since 1993. His work has been shown at the International Gallery of Contemporary Art, the Alaska State Fair and at Fur Rondy.
