Othniel "Art" Oomittuk

I am Inupiaq Eskimo and was born in “tikigaq” (Pt. Hope), Alaska. I graduated from Western Oregon University in 1986 wih a degree in Art and a minor in computer science. I started carving in 1997 and have marketed my work throughout the west coast. My masks have stories that tell you of the traditional Inupiaq cultural. Before my recent return to Alaska I spent my last four years living in Hawaii, two years in Japan carving snow and have participated in indigenous gatherings in Olympia, Washington and New Zealand.
